2012 BMW 335i xDrive Coupe Review
- 4 Cylinder
- 4 Cylinder Turbo
Completely redesigned for 2012, the new BMW 3-series introduces turbo four-cylinder power and a host of upgrades to complement its grown-up styling.
Consistently BMW's best-selling vehicle, the 2012 3-series gains a new exterior and interior along with a new turbocharged four-cylinder engine on the base 328i model.
The sixth generation of the 3 Series has grown moderately in size compared to its predecessor. Inside the new BMW 3 Series Sedan, the rear passengers will appreciate the noticeable increase in space made possible by the larger dimensions. And the BMW 3 Series range is now also available in a trio of trim and equipment variants – the Sport Line, Luxury Line and Modern Line. Regardless of which you choose, high-quality material combinations and excellent build quality are featured across the range.
A choice of two turbocharged engines along with an available 8-speed automatic gearbox helps to maximize fuel economy on the new 3-series and includes the new Auto Start-Stop function that shuts the engine off during prolonged stops. A six-speed stick is also offered, but without the Start-Stop functionality.
Of course, a full suite of infotainment technologies are available under the trade name BMW ConnectedDrive. Features include Active Blind Spot Detection System and Lane Departure Warning System with camera-based Collision Warning system, which are offered for the first time in a BMW 3 series. A Navigation System with Real-Time Traffic Information (RTTI) and an innovative comfort access function allowing hands-free opening of the trunk lid are all included on the options list.
